Crossroads for Women

For over 25 years, Crossroads for Women has been providing housing and trauma-responsive, gender-specific, wrap-around services to women with co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnoses, who have cycled between incarceration and homelessness. The organization works inside jails and prisons, places community health workers on the streets, and operates three housing and support programs, including providing aftercare for women who have participated in any Crossroads program.

Since it’s founding, Crossroads for Women has grown from a single case manager working out of the trunk of her car to a thriving organization that served over 800 women last year. Programming at Crossroads provides services that first meet the basic needs of women who often have few possessions after emerging from incarceration. Many of them are disconnected from family and their community, and mothers who do not have custody of their children. Crossroads provides clients with essentials items such as clothing, hygiene items, and home good items, to build stability so that they can focus on recovery.

At Crossroads, we believe women can recover from trauma and other painful experiences from their past. We believe everyone can heal and move on with their lives. We believe everyone deserves new starts and second chances.
